This Sunday – In honor of Mother’s Day, a special gift will be given to all ladies in attendance. Pastor Tim will continue our study of I Corinthians 13 and “The Greatness of Biblical Love.” Reminder, because it is Mother’s Day, we will not have an evening service on Sunday.

Young at Heart Fellowship – Will meet for an indoor picnic, at the church, on Tuesday, May 15 at 6:00 pm. Please contact Sheri Ugelstad if you have any questions. Sign up at the Welcome Center, on Sunday. All ages, who are Young at Heart are welcome!

All-church Fellowship – Rod and Tammy Johnson invites everyone to come to their farm for a picnic in the afternoon of Sunday, May 27. There will be no evening service that night.

Awana Awards Night – Please encourage our Awana children and workers by attending the Awana awards night this Wednesday, May 16 at 7 pm. (there will be no midweek Bible study or other midweek functions this week)

Men’s Huddle – June 2 – 7-8:30 a.m.

Midweek Summer Small Groups begin June 6 - The month of May is flying by and plans are underway to prepare us for our Summer Ministry. All are invited and encouraged to participate in midweek small groups this summer. The Lord really blessed those meetings in the life of the church last year. Again these studies can be held either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. We plan to highlight the book of John. What a great way to spread the gospel to your family as well as families outside the church. Ryan Myhre is planning a special study at church for teens and their families.

If you are interested in participating as a leader, host or both, please let me know or contact the church office. We will have a brief meeting following the morning service on May 20, to get you the material and answer any questions you might have.

Pictorial Directory – We would like to update our church pictorial directory. If you are available to help in planning & putting a pictorial church directory together, please contact the church office.

Brookdale Neighborhood Bible Clubs – We Still Need More Hosts & Leaders!
                Three to Four Host Homes – (North Fargo & Moorhead would be good, but we’ll take anywhere!)                                                              provides home/snacks/neighborhood children
            Leaders are still needed- provide lessons/songs/games
            Training for Leaders – May 23 & 30 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm each night
            Clubs will take place June 18-22 or June 25-29 – 90 minutes per day (whichever works best for Host Home and
            Time of day is up to the Host Home, as well)
            Contact Tom Salmen to be a part of the leadership to the clubs
Lost & Found – The Lost & Found bucket is over flowing! We still have several coats and jackets for all ages, along with many other misc. items. Please look over the items on a table in the fellowship room. Next Sunday is the last Sunday (May 20) they will be out for pick up. Anything not claimed by then will be donated.

Transportation Ministry Needs – every week a number of people need a ride to church for both Sunday services. If you are interested in giving leadership to or helping with this ministry, driving, organizing, etc. see John Rasmussen or Pastor Tim.

This Sunday – Dr. Sam Horn, President of Central Seminary, will be preaching in both services this weekend. We will also observe the Lord’s supper in the morning service.

Scott & Juli Fulks - The pastor and deacons recommend to the church family that we take the next step in a process of considering adding Scott and Juli to our ministry team as missionaries to Spain. Scott and Juli presented their ministry at our most recent missions conference in October. We were blessed by their ministry and a number of you had very positive response to their burden and vision for the development of a church planting movement in Spain. Please pray for God to guide His church as we evaluate this partnership in gospel ministry. In a couple of weeks, the church will then consider through a vote whether to add the Fulks to our missions team.

Mother, Daughter, Ladies & Girls Luncheon – Ladies: please sign up for Saturday, May 12, for our Mother, Daughter, Ladies & Girls luncheon. All ladies and girls are encouraged to attend and be blessed by our speaker, Missionary Jane Parks. Please be in prayer for Jane as they prepare to return to Spain on May 15. The theme is “Whispers of God’s Love”.

Brookdale Neighborhood Bible Clubs - We Need You! We are still in great need of help for the Neighborhood Bible Clubs. We’re looking for three to four host homes (North Fargo and Moorhead would be good, but we’ll take anywhere). Also, 15 to 17 more leaders are needed. The new training dates for leaders will be over two Wednesday nights, May 23 and 30 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. We are still planning to have the clubs on one of the last two weeks in June (which ever works for the host home and time of day is up to the host home as well.) Thanks to all who have already signed up. If you are interested but still have questions about this very important ministry, please feel free to call JoEllen or Tom at 701-293-4827

Sunday Services – Prepare your heart for worship this Sunday by reading I Corinthians 12-14 as we continue our study on “Gifts of the Spirit.” Invite a friend to share in the ministry this Lord’s Day. Pastoral Intern Tom Salmen will be speaking in the evening service at 6:00 pm.

Care Groups & College Student Luncheon This Sunday – Jim Stockeland and John Rasmussen’s Care Groups will have a pot luck fellowship after the morning service today. All college students are invited to join them in the Fellowship Room.

Brookdale Missions Project – 2012 – This year, we are focusing on missionaries of Brazil, as a fund raising project, for the purchase of leadership training materials and Bible study software in Portuguese. If you are interested in participating, designate this on your check and place it in the offering. More information at the Welcome Center.

Discipleship/Mentorship – seminar is April 27/28. Our topic will be addressing issues of sex and intimacy in the local church. Due to the significance of this subject, we are opening this training session up to any adult in our Brookdale family. Please contact the church office or Pastor Tim by Wednesday for more information.

Ladies – All ladies are asked to take note of the coming events:

Bridal Shower - All ladies are invited to a Bridal Shower in honor of Sarah Rasmussen, Bride to be of Jerrod Wagner, on Tuesday, May 8 at 7 pm in the Fireside Room. Contact Laurie Moats for any questions. They are registered at Macy’s and Target.

Mothers, Daughters, Ladies & Girls Luncheon – Please sign up for the ladies & girls luncheon planned for May 12 at noon. Missionary Jane Parks will be our honored guest.

Bridal Shower – All ladies are invited to a Bridal Shower in honor of Laura Bond, Bride to be of Andreas Scott, on Saturday, May 19 at 2:00 pm in the Fireside Room. Contact Diane Hulbert for any questions. They are registered at Macy’s and Target.

Transportation Ministry Needs – every week a number of people need a ride to church for both Sunday services. There is a real opportunity to minister to a number of those for whom travel is difficult as well as new people and expose them to the gospel of Christ. If you are interested in giving leadership to or helping with this ministry, driving, organizing, etc. see John Rasmussen or Pastor Tim.
