Church Leadership

Brookdale involves many people in a variety of positions of leadership. While Brookdale is a congregationally ruled church, we believe there are two biblically mandated offices: pastor and deacon. The numbers of people that serve in these offices vary on the needs of the church and the presence of interested, qualified servant leaders.

Pastors

We believe the Bible uses several terms to denote this office elder, bishop, and the most familiar today, pastor (shepherd). The role of the pastors is to shepherd people and oversee the church ministry through the faithful ministry of God’s Word. They have been entrusted to lovingly lead the church to biblical maturity following the Chief Shepherd Jesus Christ.

Current Pastoral Staff

Pastor Timothy Terpstra has been on the pastoral staff at Brookdale since 2001. Tim earned his Masters of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and undergraduate degree from Maranatha Baptist Bible College. Tim and his wife Beth have been married for twelve years and enjoy many sports, outdoor activities, and ministry together. God has blessed the Terpstras with four children, Reagan, Jayme, Samuel, and Judson.

 Deacons

God has blessed the church with committed caring deacons that serve the church two year terms. Currently nine men hold this office. Their biblical mandate is to serve the church allowing the pastors to minister the Word of God effectively.
